Within Nunavut, Smooth Island may refer to one of islands. 1. The most significant island lies in the Rankin Inlet, of Nunavut, surrounded by the Broken Islands, Longspur Island, Ground Squirrel Island, the Barrier Islands and Kango Island.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Atlas of Canada - Toporama )〕 The island has a peak of approximately 37 metres. It has an open deciduous forest and wetland. Two other islands named "Smooth Island" are classified by the Canadian government as being located within Nunavut,〔 when in fact they are located significantly closer to Quebec.
